Phase 1 – Value growth program

We find the answers to the questions: What is the owners' agenda? How to fulfill the owner's agenda and exceed the current value development? We will create a value growth program, which takes into account the owner's agenda, schedule and risk profile. We will carefully explain and justify what the company is worth now and what it can be worth in the future.

The first phase is efficient at finding the latent competitive advantages of your company. The process is completed within two-six months and it requires two working days each month of the key personnel's time.

The first phase also often clarifies the owner's agenda, risk profile and schedule and answers the question: What do the owners want from their business?

In its simplicity, the process is about carefully exploring: What customers and potential future customers buy now and what they want to buy in the future as well as what the strength factors are that we are better at than others or what we could become better at than others. A sustainable competitive advantage and value growth are found in the combination of these market opportunities, critical factors and internal strengths.

The process is led by one of Comset's partner and if you wish the process can involve a knowledge investor from the Professional Partners Network that is selected according to your chosen criteria. This ensures the practical nature of the process and that the efficient academic framework is combined with strong experience by the people who in the future can help implement the plan for value growth.

The framework that we use is the Resource based view of firm - RBV. Today it is the most widely used strategy framework and it has proven to be effective. The strength of the framework is its systematical approach and that it takes into account not only market opportunities but also the company's actual ability in relation to competitors.

The first phase also includes an analysis by an experienced knowledge investor team and a cash flow based valuation. The valuation is conducted by the independent Inderes analyst group, which provides highly-regarded analyses also for listed companies.

Phase 2 – Implementing value growth

Together we define the tasks that will help you the most in increasing the value of your company according to the owner's agenda. If you wish, we will assume responsibility for the performance of these tasks by bringing in a group of experienced professionals to perform the agreed-upon tasks and/or support your own team for example through board work.

We are experts for example in activating and enhancing sales, improving productivity, financial management tasks or implementing M&As.

Boosting the value growth through an injection of capital is always wortwhile when the value of the ownership grows more than without the added capital. If you want, we can help you with the fundraising. The funding may consist of loans from one or more financial institutions and/or it may be a conditional capital investment made by one or more investors.

Option: Sale of company

If the owner's agenda is an exit instead of a dividend machine, we integrate the M&A process as a seamless part of the value growth activities and start the preparation for an exit simultaneously with the value growth activities.

A good exit is built on competitive advantage and growth. We select potential buyers and produce valuable information for the owners about how the value growth activities should be emphasized in order to make the company as valuable as possible from the perspective of potential buyers. In addition to the support for value growth we also manage and implement the sale by bringing in competing buyer candidates and handling negotiations and documentations.
